California Competitive/Off-Road Use Only

California Vehicle Code
California Competitive/Off-Road Use Only DISCLAIMER AND LIABILITY WAIVER

Section 27156 and the Federal Clean Air Act prohibit modifications to vehicles that increase motor vehicle emissions. Most performance modifications do not increase vehicle emissions and if proven by their manufacturers and the ARB not to increase vehicle emissions, are allowed an exemption to allow for their installation on vehicles in California.  Aftermarket parts or modifications shown to not increase vehicle emissions are granted an exemption to emission control system anti-tampering laws.

Competition Use Only - Competition or racing parts are those that have not been proven by their manufacturers to not increase vehicle emissions. These parts are not legal for use on any pollution-controlled vehicle in California, and they are required to be labeled as such when they are offered for sale. These parts may only be used on closed course racing or competition vehicles, or on off-road vehicles manufactured prior to the ARB's introduction of off-road emissions standards.

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) does not permit the use of aftermarket emission-related part(s) that alter the performance of OEM emission-related devices unless CARB has issued an Executive Order, other than on racing vehicles on closed courses. Check your local laws and manufacturer’s information.

This exemption is called an Executive Order (EO) and allows the modification to be installed on specific emissions-controlled vehicles. Every Executive Order part or modification has an assigned number that can be verified by Smog Check stations, BAR Referee stations, or by the California Air Resource Board.

Products sold and manufactured by Relentless Automotive Development Group may not have exemption in California and therefore are for Off-Road Use Only. These products have clear and reasonable warning labeling on the products web page(s) and packaging of the part. The warning has text similar to: Off-Road Use Only. This product is legal in California only for racing vehicles which may never be used upon a highway. Check your local and federal laws prior to installation.

You will be prompted during checkout to acknowledge that you have received and understand this warning.

Emissions Notice

Some products offered are not legal for sale or street use in California. Certain aftermarket products are subject to governmental emission standards regulated by the California Air Resources Board. In order for these products to be legal on a specific vehicle in California, the part number must receive a CARB Executive Order (EO) number. This number makes the part legal for use only on specific years, makes and models of vehicles. A decal with CARB EO number for these parts must be displayed in the engine bay to satisfy smog inspection requirements.
